Devin Ulibarri began studying the classical guitar in high school with local pedagogue Jeremy Mayne. At UNM, he studied with Michael Chapdelaine and graduated with two very well received recitals. His junior recital was recorded by nationally recognized guitar maker, Michael Thames to be part of a PBS special of noteworthy guitarists in New Mexico. His senior recital program included his own arrangement of J. S. Bach's first cello suite, which received a standing ovation for its groundbreaking steps in arrangements of Bach for the guitar.
Mr. Ulibarri has twice had original pieces published in Conceptions Southwest magazine. He continues to follow the best the world has to offer in music theory, modern music and jazz and to combine that with his own style of original composition. He has recently been accepted to study with Eliot Fisk at the New England Conservatory in Boston.
