Guitar Music for Children and Beginners
I have finally completed the sheet music of "Guitar Music for Children and Beginners". I am a teacher at the UNM Music Prep School and I wrote some contemporary pieces for my students in order to teach the fundamentals of guitar technique and music in a fun and easy way. This book is meant to be used for the first 3-5 months of education in a group class (depending on age), and 2-4 months in a private teaching situation. There are 3 technical pieces that help teach the student the physics of the guitar and how to use their bodies in a fun and creative way. Then, by the last month, they should have all the basics they need to play their first pieces. Parents will enjoy listening to their children practice songs like "My first Rock Song" and "Afternoon Breeze"!
If you are a teacher, parent or student looking for a fresh approach and very entertaining music then I highly recommend buying this book. It has worked like a charm with my beginners. One parent commented that, “I think it does teach fundamentals in an easy and fun way. The kids really like it… They don’t even realize they are working on technique. The song has a good length as well. Just enough for the kids to memorize and feel they accomplished something.”
